Jun 2018: A large cargo ship Thorco Lineage ran aground on Raroia atoll, a French Polynesia reef. The vessel carrying 20,000 tonnes of zinc and 500 tonnes of fuel oil, could have caused significant damage to the marine environment in case of fuel leakage.
